Netflix began 2017 with new TV shows in the making, and new TV shows already released. Of those shows, some of them have received mixed reviews, while others have not quite gathered an audience yet. Some of the more popular ones include:

Santa Clarita Diet (65% on Rotten Tomatoes)

Following in the tradition of joke-horror, Santa Clarita Diet mixes zombies in with a typical California family. It has received mainly good reviews, though has been criticized for violence and graphic scenes, and stars Drew Barrymore as the human-turned-zombie.

A Series of Unfortunate Events (94% on Rotten Tomatoes)

For fans of the books who were disappointed by the movie starring Jim Carrey, this new Netflix show has gotten amazing reviews and remains true to the books. Starring Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf and Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, the dark and not-surprisingly musical rendition of the series does not disappoint.

One Day at a Time (96% on Rotten Tomatoes)

About 33 years after the show starring Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips stopped airing, Netflix has recreated the classic for modern audiences. Justina Machado stars as a single mother of two children, with Rita Moreno as her mother. The new version has received positive reviews from fans of the original and new fans of the franchise.
