About a month ago, I wrote a story about the travesty that is the recognition that Saint Louis University Billikens (SLU) receives. And I wouldn’t be all that surprised if you hadn’t heard about the Billikens’ NCAA Round 2 victory tonight over Memphis.
But I am sure you heard about a team called Norfolk State. And thanks to Norfolk State, you will definitely be hearing about SLU in the next few days. Instead of opening the Post-Dispatch to a full-sized photos of accused criminals such as Frank Haith and quotes from media favorites such as Kim English, I instead look forward to reading about the hardest working college basketball team in the state.The team, our team, who wasn’t supposed to hang with, let alone beat Memphis, took it to them. I look forward to seeing SLU getting a legitimate preview by national news sources. And thanks to Norfolk State, this is all possible.
