Solo and Small Ensemble Festival

The Solo and Small Ensemble festival, or the MSHAA District State Music Festival of 2013 proved to be yet another stress filled but illuminating experience for CHS orchestra and band students. Preparations were made by participants to play their chosen solo or group piece this friday or saturday. Those who received a one rating will be eligible to progress onto state.

Students rehearse for the mythical comedic performance, “This Palpable Gross Play,” inspired by William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The play originally ran from Nov. 9-11, 2023.
Thespian Troupe Wins State Awards
Orchestra Director Daniel Henderson leads a Symphonic Orchestra performance. Clayton performers have won numerous awards and convention trips as ensembles and individually.

Phoebe Yao is currently a Junior at CHS and an editor for the CHS Globe. She is very involved both inside and outside the classroom, and enjoys being president of the CHS Buskers Club and Jane Austen Club and being a member of MYAC, CHS Link Crew, and Tri-M. In addition, she is very dedicated to her viola and enjoys being a part of the CHS Symphonic Orchestra and the Saint Louis Youth Orchestra as well as the Webster University Preparatory Program.
