“Have you ever had a dream of being an actor or actress, not an actor or actress have you ever wanted to be a part of the movie making experience? Or do you just want to have some fun?”
This was the announcement that captured the attention of CHS students.
Senior Ryan Shields put the announcement in place. Shields has been a producer of GNN for the past two years, and is one of the organizers of the Clayton Film Festival.
“Being a part of GNN is the closest thing to producing a movie,” Shields said. “I like the art of storytelling, that’s what I do. I have a lot of stories in my head and I feel like expressing that to people.”
Shields has been writing scripts for six years. He has only recently started filming and has produced one movie.
This year he decided to do something different. He is making a movie, featuring CHS students and staff.
“Without giving the movie away, the movie revolves around the most popular guy in school and the least popular girl in school,” Shields said. “Wayne Johnson is a matchmaker that helps the least popular girl, Megan Greenberg, date the most popular guy, Tom Warner.”
Shields usual scripts are full of action and science fiction but he wanted to branch out and try a new genre, which is how he came up with a romantic comedy script.
Auditions are next Friday and production starts in late October.
“People have been coming up to me and asking how they can be involved in the movie,” Shields. “It makes me feel really good that people are interested in it, I’m glad that people will enjoy it.”
