Public Face of Al Qaeda Killed

Abu Yahya al-Libi was second-in-command of Al Qaeda. Born in Libya, al-Libi was featured in many propaganda videos for Al Qaeda.

Al-Libi was killed by a CIA drone strike in Pakistan. The drone strikes have been used to thin the terrorist network, and have killed many Al Qaeda members.

In the Al Qaeda terrorist network, Al-Libi was, “one of the more prominent names” Former CIA officer Paul Pillar told the AP.

People are hopeful that the already thinning Al Qaeda will continue to be weakened. Al-Libi’s death was announced by a U.S. official.
