What’s a small thing that instantly makes your day better? A chai latte.
What are some of your favorite hobbies? Playing tennis and violin.
What’s your favorite part of being on the newspaper staff? My favorite part of being on the newspaper staff is getting to tell stories that matter to the school and community. I also love hearing different voices in school that I wouldn’t normally get to know.

Tori Haroutounian slices the ball at the varsity tennis match. As a freshman on varsity, Tori had doubts about playing for a team instead of individual tournaments; however, she has found the environment extremely supportive. “I really love the girl’s tennis team,” Haroutounian said. “It is such a different experience than just playing tournaments, because everybody is cheering each other on and being so supportive.”

At Clayton’s annual Art Fair, the Buskers Club, consisting of orchestra students, plays for the crowds passing by. Junior Zoe Baldwin played violin, and she felt the joys of playing without the stress of large performance. “I still get a little nervous, but there is no judgment if I mess up. I think people are happy to see young people passionate about music, so it starts to become more about our presence than if we make a mistake or not,” Baldwin said. "Recently, I've been practicing my violin more, and I enjoy playing with my orchestra. I've been playing since I was two years old. I enjoyed playing when I was in sixth grade because it was one of the first times that I had the opportunity to play in an orchestra with other instruments. Now, I do solo and ensemble work and plan to audition for the All-State and All-Suburban orchestras." - Amelia Henderson, 10

"Today, I ran my cross-country PR. I just started. It is my first time. Two weeks ago, I set my first-ever PR, and I did all right. But yesterday, I beat it by a whole minute. I just like the feeling of success at the end. You know, where you can look back and realize I just did this, the idea of trying my hardest but still taking care of myself." - Logan Nguyen, 10
