Local NCAA Update

Teams in the Missouri-Illinois area have not fared well so far in the 2013 NCAA mens’ basketball tournament.

The University of Missouri Tigers fell to Colorado State in the round of 64 teams. The Tigers were a nine seed.

The St. Louis University (SLU) Bilikens won their first game, but fell to the Oregon Ducks in their second game. SLU had a four seed after a very successful season.

The Illinois Fighting Illini, a seven seed, won their first round game, and will play number two ranked Miami on Sunday.

Making a Racket at State
Junior Hannah Taylor jumping in the air to spike the ball while playing sand volleyball at a tournament in Clearwater, Fla, Taylor ended up placing third in this tournament with over 100 teams. Me and my partner had never done that well before so it was super exciting and fun to participate and play well, Taylor said.
