“We recently lost our cat, Roxie. Roxie was kind of my mom’s cat. I never got to see her young age, but we loved her. She was very grumpy, but we loved her. Death is an inevitability in life. You’re going to experience it in some way. But I think it’s something of an insult to a person or thing’s memory, if rather than focusing on all the good memories you have made, you instead mourn for prolonged periods of time. Of course, you mourn. You know someone died, but you have to move on.”
