Featured Photo: Spruce Grouse on the Mountaintop

You never know what you might see while hiking up the New England 4000 footers. This summer I was able to join my dad and uncle in their quest to climb all 67 4,000 footers, conquering Vermont's Garfield, Galehead, North Twin, and Zealand. They were gracious enough to give me time to catch a picture of this Spruce Grouse I found strutting among the small conifers. Photo taken by Alessandra Silva, with thanks to Matthew and Mark Silva for the opportunity.
You never know what you might see while hiking up the New England 4000 footers. This summer I was able to join my dad and my uncle in their quest to climb all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000 footers, and we conquered Garfield, Galehead, North Twin, and Zealand. My two fellow hikers were gracious enough to give me time to catch a picture of this elusive Spruce Grouse I found strutting among the small conifers. Photo taken by Alessandra Silva, with thanks to Matthew and Mark Silva for the opportunity and a great hike.
