All-Conference Teams Announced For Basketball

The Clayton Greyhounds had a strong core of basketball players who earned all-conference honors for the 2012-2013 season. Playing in a conference with Ladue, Normandy and other basketball powerhouses, these honors were hard to come by. Below are the Greyhounds who earned all-conference praises.

Boys’ Basketball:

Defensive player of the year: Tyler Walker, senior

First team: Addison Joseph, senior

Second team: Jervante Phillips, junior

Honorable mention: Tyler Walker, senior

Mitch Elliot, sophomore

Nick Bax, junior

Girls’ Basketball:

Player of the Year: Lacei Sams, senior

Second team: Carmen Planells, senior

Honorable mention: Caroline Avery, junior

Nina Murov, senior

Senior Simone Sah serves the ball in a match on Sept. 21 against Ladue. This match prepared her for her eventual victory at state.
Making a Racket at State
Junior Hannah Taylor jumping in the air to spike the ball while playing sand volleyball at a tournament in Clearwater, Fla, Taylor ended up placing third in this tournament with over 100 teams. Me and my partner had never done that well before so it was super exciting and fun to participate and play well, Taylor said.
