Google Plus Challenges Facebook

Facebook’s domination in the social network market may soon come to an end. With radical new ideas, Google’s new social network has presented itself as a clear challenger to Facebook. However, only an estimated 10 million people have Google Plus accounts, while over 750 million people have active Facebook accounts.

The contrast between the two social networks is huge. While Facebook has the friending system, Google Plus allows for someone to be in your circle, without you being in theirs. This allows for a more twitter-like atmosphere, as someone who you do not know can begin following you.

Additionally, games are easily filtered with a separate tab, compared to Facebook being spammed with game-messages.

Another positive of Google Plus is that anyone with a Google account can have one, meaning that they do not need to create an entirely new account for another social networking site. Additionally, Google

Plus integrates the Google Chat features, which has higher-quality voice and video chatting than Facebook’s version.

The idea of hangouts, or being able to video-chat with more than one person at once, is a revolutionary concept that Google Plus offers for free. Many systems that could already do this have a prior specification, whether it be owning an apple, or paying an extra fee.

Google Plus also allows users to share certain messages with only certain people, making it able to be used for multiple areas of life. For example, someone could write a status, and make it only viewable to people in their “business” circle.

Although the numbers don’t reveal it yet, all in all, Google Plus offers a better product than Facebook.
