(0:00) What’s up guys, welcome back to another episode of Difference Maker.
(0:05) I’m your host, Owen Maddock, and today we have a very, very, very, very, very special guest, Hannah Maddock.
(0:14) Okay.
(0:15) Introduce yourself.
(0:17) I’m Hannah Maddock, I’m a sophomore at Clayton High School, and I’m on the varsity volleyball team.
(0:25) That’s pretty nice.
How’d you guys do this season?
(0:31) We did pretty good. Lots of wins, lots of tough wins, and a great group of girls who are playing together.
(0:44) That’s pretty cool. All right, well, let’s get into it with the golden question.
(0:51) Who made a difference in your life, and how?
(0:58) I would say my mom, because she really taught me to drive towards things I’m passionate in,
(1:09) and when I have my mindset on a goal, that I should just go for it, because there is nothing much to lose, and nothing to hold back.
(1:20) So, what’s one thing you would say, what’s another thing that your mom helped you with?
(1:35) She coached me through sports.
I find that very helpful, having your own built-in coach at home,
(1:45) and really getting to see yourself expand through the level of sports by your parents’ coaching.
(1:59) You know, that’s pretty cool. All right, now let’s get into some rapid-fire questions, all right?
(2:05) What’s your dream job?
(2:07) My dream job is to be a sports medicine teacher.
(2:13) What do you specifically do in that job?
(2:17) You basically, as someone who has their ACL, you help with their surgery,
(2:22) and just anything that is sports-related injuries, you help get them back on the court or on the field.
(2:31) So you would perform a surgery?
(2:35) Yes.
(2:36) That’s pretty scary.
(2:37) Yeah.
(2:39) What’s one job you would never do, even if you had great pay?
(2:45) A skyscraper cleaner, like the people that clean the windows.
(2:49) I can’t look down that far, and they only have a rope holding them.
I just can’t do that.
(2:57) Yeah, I agree with that.
(2:59) Do you think you could successfully run Amazon for one week?
(3:06) I feel like, yeah, because there’s a bunch of other corporate involved in it,
(3:14) and I feel like I just have to ask a ton of questions on day one, and then I can get the hang of it.
(3:20) Okay, that’s pretty cool.
(3:22) What’s your best sports accomplishment?
(3:34) Probably getting varsity as a freshman and making all-conference team as a freshman.
(3:39) I feel like that was pretty nice, especially coming in as the younger player
(3:46) and seeing all these great achievements already.
(3:50) That’s pretty impressive, if you ask me
. (3:54) What’s your best academic accomplishment?
(4:02) I like being a part of Yearbook.
(4:10) I feel like every single time I get my different parts of the pages done and seeing it all accomplished,
(4:21) I feel like that’s pretty nice.
(4:22) And then winning awards for my pages of Yearbook, I feel like it’s pretty nice.
(4:29) Well, the whole book wins awards, and I feel like it’s pretty nice having the whole group that I get to be a part of.
(4:37) Who’s your teacher in Yearbook?
(4:40) Secrear.
He’s pretty awesome. He’s a chill teacher. I have a lot of chill teachers.
(4:47) I know Secrear’s a pretty cool dude. I heard he bikes through a lot of different weathers.
(4:54) Yeah, he’s crazy.
(4:55) Yeah, pretty cool.
(4:57) Alright, well, what is your favorite college?
(5:06) I don’t really have a favorite college.
(5:08) I just want to play volleyball in high school, and I want to get a scholarship for that.
(5:14) I think anywhere that isn’t going to be super cold, I think, is my favorite college.
(5:20) Okay, me too. I don’t really like the cold weather either.
(5:24) But anyways, what is your dream college?
(5:31) Davidson University, I feel like, is my dream college.
(5:36) That’s pretty cool. What do you like about Davidson?
(5:40) I have connections with their volleyball coach, and I love the area around it, how it’s a small town, and it’s a good school.
(5:52) I mean, the only thing I know about Davidson is Steph Curry went there, and we love Steph Curry.
(5:58) You did?
(5:59) Yeah.
(6:00) Good to know.
(6:04) What, in your opinion, is the best college sports team out there? Just any sport.
(6:13) I feel like I only see Nebraska placing up there, and I also feel like I see Stanford placing up, and all the different kinds of sports.
(6:24) That’s pretty tough.
(6:28) If you could give someone $1,000,000, any person, who would that be?
(6:39) Probably myself. Or my family, my family.
(6:45) Because I probably spent a lot of money on my own self for my parents’ money, so I feel like giving back is nice.
(6:53) Greedy.
(6:55) They don’t have to spend any more money on me, because I already have it.
(7:04) If you had an infinite amount of money, what’s the first thing you’re buying?
(7:17) Probably a Bronco Heritage light blue.
(7:22) What do you like about that car?
(7:24) I like the color, and I like my dad’s car very much, and I’m jealous that he won’t let me drive it.
(7:30) So, I want to drive my own car. That’s prettier.
(7:35) I mean, that’s pretty cool. I like Broncos too, they’re pretty cool. (
7:41) Mr. Maddox, he looks pretty cool in his Bronco, so plus 10 aura points right there.
(7:47) What is your favorite food?
(7:51) I like pasta and pizza. I really like Italian food, like anything Italian.
(7:59) I love going to Italy and just trying all the different foods.
(8:03) Is a baguette Italian?
(8:05) No, it’s French.
(8:07) Just testing you there
. (8:10) Actually, no, I think it’s like originated from somewhere else.
It’s just French food.
(8:16) Where’s a hamburger from?
(8:18) Germany.
(8:18) Okay, just making sure.
(8:23) That’s why during the war they named it the United States burger or something like that.
(8:29) Because they were at war with Germany. (8:32) It’s pretty cool.
(8:33) What are the top three places to eat?
(8:37) Katie’s is up there. I also like eating at Chipotle. I think that’s very nice.
(8:49) And can I name a drink place?
(8:52) I like Starbucks. I like their grilled cheese.
(8:56) That’s what’s up.
I mean, what’s your Starbucks order? Speaking of Starbucks.
(9:01) Well, it depends on if it’s Christmas or not.
(9:03) All seasons.
(9:05) Okay, for spring and summer, I have my pink drink with lavender.
(9:14) And for fall, I have a pumpkin chai. It’s pretty nice with light ice.
(9:23) And there’s a lot of things I get. I either get a peppermint mocha or I get a sugar cookie latte.
(9:31) And it’s really nice.
And I get a frappuccino.
(9:34) See, I’m pretty bland. I just get hot chocolate.
(9:37) You also get a black frappuccino.
(9:39) Yeah, whatever that is.
(9:41) What’s your favorite breakfast food?
(9:44) Waffles.
(9:45) Wiffles. I like wiffles pretty much too.
(9:51) What is your favorite sports team from every sport that you know?
(9:55) Um, well, I like watching Illinois because my mom likes them.
(10:06) And, uh, yeah. I just like all the top teams that I can look at players and get to see what I can improve on. (10:17) That’s pretty tough.
(10:20) What’s the world’s, what in your opinion is the world’s greatest athlete of all time?
(10:26) Oh, that’s a trick question.
(10:28) Um, to be honest, now that I got more into it, I feel like Babe Ruth is kind of cool.
(10:36) What’s so funny about that? What do you want me to say? LeBron James? He’s not that cool.
(10:41) I don’t think he’s that cool.
(10:43) LeBron James is glorious. We’re just going to leave it at that.
(10:46) No, it’s just a bunch of teen guys just fan-girling over him. It’s kind of weird, actually.
(10:51) Yeah, whatever she’s talking about.
(10:52) Anyways, what’s your favorite video game to play with friends?
(10:56) I love playing Adopt Me on Roblox.
(10:59) I love, especially during all the different seasons that they have.
(11:03) Like, Christmas is coming up and I’m so excited to play that with my friends.
(11:09) Question, aren’t you a sophomore in high school?
(11:12) Yes. (11:12) Isn’t the game rated for…
(11:14) Five and older. It has a plus sign, idiot.
(11:17) Okay.
(11:19) Didn’t expect a sophomore in high school to be playing.
(11:23) Alright, let’s not talk about that.
(11:25) Anyways, what is one thing you can’t live without?
(11:32) Caffeine.
(11:33) Wow.
(11:34) Yeah, on my bed.
Also my phone.
(11:37) Oh, okay.
(11:37) I feel like it’s hard to communicate with friends without your phone.
(11:39) Yeah.
(11:40) Especially when it’s on the weekend.
(11:43) See, yeah, I get my phone taken away a lot.
(11:45) Yeah, well, that’s also your problem. You get your grades and they’ll look at your phone.
(11:49) Yeah, I could say it’s…
(11:51) They’re both non-existent.
(11:53) It’s pretty hard. Anyways, um…
(11:57) What is one drink you can’t live without?
(11:59) A Bubbler.
(12:01) A Bloobler?
(12:01) Or a Starbucks.
(12:02) Ooh, Starbucks.
(12:04) That’s pretty tough. What’s your favorite Bloobler flavor?
(12:07) Bubbler?
(12:08) Yeah, Bloobler.
(12:10) Okay.
(12:11) I like the peach flavor. Or the Orange Dreamsicle.
(12:15) Orange Dreamsicle is my favorite.
(12:17) Alright, what is one item you can’t live without?
(12:20) Item.
(12:23) My Macbook.
(12:24) Wowzers. What do you do on your MacBook?
(12:26) I learn. And during school.
(12:28) And I also play Roblox during my lab time with my lab peers.
(12:32) Oh, yeah? Who’s your lab peers?
(12:35) Um… (12:37) Sophia, Addie, Reagan, Charlotte…
(12:42) And many more.
(12:44) We sit in a glass room.
It’s pretty cool, actually.
(12:47) And, um…
(12:48) You guys sit in a glass room and play Adopt Me, is that right?
(12:51) Not all the time.
(12:53) Oh.
(12:54) Sometimes we do work.
(12:55) Oh, actually. Oh, wow.
(12:57) That’s pretty impressive, you know.
(12:59) Are you serious right now?
(13:00) Um, what’s your favorite, um…
(13:02) What’s your favorite meme?
(13:03) Meme?
(13:04) Yeah.
(13:05) Is it like a funny video?
(13:06) Yeah, anything.
(13:09) Um…
(13:10) I don’t know. I like that one girl that, like, slaps these, like, hands together and says,
(13:14) I ain’t got no sleep because of y’all and I’m never gonna get sleep because of me.
(13:17) I kinda like that video.
(13:18) Dude.
(13:20) Are you serious right now?
(13:22) No, it’s kinda funny.
(13:23) Um, I also like people getting hit by stuff in the head.
(13:27) Wow. Okay.
(13:29) Like, not like, like, like a tiny toy ball.
(13:32) That’s like a tiny child getting hit.
(13:34) Wow, okay, um…
(13:36) I just like the way it bounces off.
(13:40) Alright, well.
(13:42) You know, that is something right there.
(13:44) And, um, last thing.
(13:46) What’s your opinion on 6-7?
(13:49) I think it’s kinda stupid.
(13:50) Oh, yeah?
(13:50) Well, I was kinda, it was kinda funny, um, early on, um, in the year.
(13:55) And then now it’s kinda stupid.
(13:56) I don’t like it.
(13:57) Oh, yeah?
(13:58) It’s annoying.
(13:59) Alright, well.
(14:00) You know, that’s the end of this podcast.
(14:02) Um…
(14:03) That’s your, um, that’s your guest, Hannah Maddock.
(14:05) I’m your host, Owen Maddock.
(14:07) And, peace out.
(14:09) See you guys in the next one.
